Ian Richardson, the former Liverpool scout responsible for unearthing the talents of Harry Wilson and Ben Woodburn, passed away earlier this week.
Richardson also had a spell working for Everton and was responsible for scouting young talent in Wales.
Tributes to Richardson, who also scouted Neco Williams and Danny Ward for the Reds, have been paid by former colleagues and friends across the scouting and recruitment industry.
“A true gentleman as well as an excellent scout,” Frank Sharps posted on LinkedIn. “Our thoughts are with his wife Gill and wider family at this very sad time.”
Another great man with an eye for a player taken,” said Kenny Williams, Head of Academy Recruitment at Wigan Athletic. “Some chats going on up there in heaven about the football. RIP Ian, deepest sympathy to all the family.”
